After landing

There are two airports on the island, Tenerife South (Reina Sofia) and Tenerife North (Los Rodeos).

From Tenerife South you can reach Los Cristianos in 20-30 minutes and Puerto de la Cruz in 2 hours, and the northern airport is 11 km from Santa Cruz.

Land transport to and from the airport

Public transport services include various bus routes that connect airports with several parts of the island.

Bus line 343 connects the two airports.

You also have plenty of taxis at decent prices.

When to visit Tenerife

The mild climate of the island turns it into a perfect holiday destination, 365 days a year.

The canaries have a subtropical climate, so even in December and January you can enjoy the beach, swimming in the ocean and clear skies.

In general, most tourists choose to visit Tenerife from May to September, especially because the cool breeze makes the hot days much more comfortable.

Whenever you get here, don't worry, the weather won't disappoint.

Main attractions

El Teide

One of the symbols of the island is Teide, part of the Universal Heritage and the second most visited natural park in the world.

Rising proudly over Tenerife, it is the highest mountain in Spain, with an altitude of 3,718 meters.

Teide National Park is part of the UNESCO heritage, and once you get there, you will understand why it attracts over four million visitors annually.

Masca Valley

It would be a shame not to explore one of the most popular hiking areas in Tenerife, the Masca Valley.

Your route can start from the village of Masca, where you will see old stone houses, tall palm trees and remarkable authenticity, then follow the descent to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

You will discover waterfalls, caves, winding paths and you will see rocks with interesting shapes, and at the end you will relax on the black sand beach of Masca Bay.

Flavors of Tenerife

The typical cuisine of the Canary Islands contains simple dishes, consisting of grilled meat and fresh fish, along with papas arrugadas, as well as incredibly ingenious salads and sauces. If you like soups, try rancho canario, a product inspired by Madrid cuisine with chicken, pork, chickpeas, potatoes, cabbage, carrots and homemade noodles. A culinary symbol of the place is mojo, a sauce so delicious that it reaches the farthest corners of the world. For an authentic experience, buy a wheel of smoked goat cheese made in Arico and enjoy it with local avocado honey and Serrano ham. The wines made on the island are gaining more and more worldwide recognition, so don't hesitate to drink at least a glass of black listan. As for desserts, fresh exotic fruits have a flavor that will stay in your mind for a long time.
