Online check-in

Online check-in is available 72 hours to 12 hours before the flight for international flights and 72 hours to 2 hours for domestic and Otopeni flights.

Online check-in is available for all Animawings flights. There are a few exceptions, as highlighted below:

  • Passengers traveling with pets
  • Passengers requiring special assistance, such as passengers with reduced mobility, passengers with visual, hearing and/or speech impairments and passengers traveling with guide dogs
  • Passengers who have booked their flights through a codeshare arrangement or commercial agreement (i.e. Aegean Airlines, Hahnair) are requested to use the booking code received from the airline or third-party GDS platform to access the booking and complete the check-in section.

To complete your online check-in with Animawings, follow these simple steps:

  • Go to the "Check-in" section within the website
  • Provide your last name and booking reference number (the PNR code)
  • The system will randomly assign seats on the aircraft based on the online check-in process unless the passengers, including those with the same reservation or minors, preselect their seats. To sit near your beloved ones, make sure to select your preferred seats. Add the additional services you require, verify the accuracy and validity of the data provided for check-in registration, and make sure you understand the online check-in rules before confirming completion
  • Download the electronic boarding pass to your mobile device or choose the 'send to email' option for easy access later
  • If you are traveling without checked-in baggage, go directly to the boarding gate and scan your e-boarding pass

Attention! If you have hold baggage, it must be handed in at the airport check-in counters.

Yes, but checked-in baggage must be handed over at the airport check-in counters before proceeding to the gate.

The electronic boarding pass contains all your flight details and a QR code (2D barcode) that must be scanned at the airport during boarding. It replaces the paper boarding pass and is available only when performing check-in online. Once you receive and download your electronic boarding pass, you may proceed directly to the airport gate, unless you travel with checked baggage, in which case you will be required to hand it over at the check-in counter. At the gate, you have to present your ID or your passport, depending on the document that has been declared during the online check-in, alongside your electronic boarding pass.

Make sure you have the QR code (IATA standard two-dimensional barcode) image clearly displayed on your device screen when you approach the security checkpoint or boarding gate.

What you need to do:

  • Check that the entire QR code is visible on the screen.
  • Make sure the screen backlight is on for a quick scan.
  • Have the valid ID (ID card or passport) used at check-in handy, as it will be checked both at the security checkpoint and at the boarding gate.

Did your phone run out of battery and can't access your electronic boarding pass?

The boarding pass can be collected free of charge from the AnimaWings check-in counters, which are open up to 45 minutes before the flight.

Careful! The boarding gate and check-in process close 20 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure time. If you are late, you will be denied boarding for operational and security reasons.

For a hassle-free experience, check the scheduled departure time of your flight and make sure you arrive on time at the announced boarding gate at the airport.

AnimaWings passengers can also check-in for free at the airport. AnimaWings check-in desks open 2 hours before scheduled departure time.

In order to have enough time for all formalities, please arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. This interval allows you to complete:

  • Check-in (verification of identity documents, labeling of hand luggage, handing over of checked luggage and obtaining the boarding pass).
  • Security control.
  • Boarding on time.

Careful!

  • Check-in counters close 45 minutes before the flight.
  • The boarding gate closes 20 minutes before take-off.

Priority passengers at check-in:

At airport check-in counters, priority is given to passengers accompanied by infants or children, persons with disabilities, pregnant women and passengers requiring special assistance.
