Main attractions in Antalya

The old town and local culture

The main tourist attraction, apart from the beaches, is Kaleiçi, the historic area of the city, with narrow streets and old but preserved buildings from the Ottoman era.

Here is the Kale Kapısı Square, the statue of Attalus II and the İki Kapılar Hanı Bazaar.

Also nearby are Tekeli Mehmet Pasha Camii Mosque, Adrian's Gate and Roman Port.

The Antalya Museum covers the history of the places from the Stone Age to the present day. Yivli Minare is the oldest functional minaret in the city, built by Sultan Aladin Keykubad I in the 13th century. Suna & İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum is a small ethnographic museum, located in a beautiful villa with Antalya-specific architecture. On the second floor you will find a series of dioramas depicting ancient rituals and customs of Turkish culture.

Holiday paradise

Antalya is a seaside paradise with fairytale beaches, where you can relax freely but you can also practice water sports such as kitesurfing, water skiing, snorkeling and diving.

You can also rent small boats for short cruises on the Mediterranean. You can also opt for Jeep Safari or excursions and hikes in the Taurus Mountains, which are within walking distance of the city. Thrill seekers can try river rafting or paragliding. Cycling is a fun way to explore the city and enjoy the view of the seaside.

Karaalioglu Park

Karaalioglu is one of the largest parks in Antalya, a wonderful place where you can relax in the shade on hot days and where you can take long walks in the evening.

At the edge of the park is the Roman fortress Hidirlik, which sits above the old port.

Here is a 14m high tower that offers beautiful views over the city and the bay. The park is also a great place for a picnic, and access to it is free.
