Online check-in opens 48 hours to 2 hours prior to the flight's scheduled departure time.
Is online check-in available for all Animawings flights?
Online check-in is available for all Animawings direct flights departing from Otopeni Airport (Henri Coandă International Airport, Bucharest). There are a few exceptions, as highlighted below:
- Passengers traveling with pets
- Passengers requiring special assistance, such as passengers with reduced mobility, passengers with visual, hearing, and/or speech impairments, and passengers traveling with guide dogs
Passengers who booked their flight tickets through a codeshare arrangement or commercial agreement (i.e.Aegean Airlines, Hahnair) are kindly requested to use the booking code received from the airline or GDS third-party platform to access the reservation and complete the check-in section.
How to you use online check-in?
To complete your online check-in with Animawings, follow these simple steps:
- Go to the "Check-in" section within the website
- Provide your last name and booking reference number (i.e. 11ABCD/12ABCD)
- The system will randomly assign seats on the aircraft based on the online check-in process unless the passengers, including those with the same reservation or minors, preselect their seats. To sit near your beloved ones, make sure to select your preferred seats. Add the additional services you require, verify the accuracy and validity of the data provided for check-in registration, and make sure you understand the online check-in rules before confirming completion
- Download the electronic boarding pass to your mobile device or choose the 'send to email' option for easy access later
- If you are traveling without checked-in baggage, go directly to the boarding gate and scan your e-boarding pass
Attention! If you have hold baggage, it must be handed in at the airport check-in counters.
Can I check in online when I have baggage to check in?
Yes, but checked-in baggage must be handed over at the airport check-in counters before proceeding to the gate.
What is the mobile boarding pass?
The mobile boarding pass contains all your flight details and a QR code (2D barcode) that must be scanned at the airport during boarding. It replaces the traditional paper boarding pass and is available only when performing check-in online. Once you receive and download your electronic boarding pass, you may proceed directly to the airport gate, unless you travel with checked baggage, in which case you will be required to hand it over at the check-in counter. At the gate, you have to present your ID or your passport, depending on the document that has been declared during the online check-in, alongside your electronic boarding pass.
What should I do at the airport when using a mobile (electronic) boarding pass?
You should have the IATA-standard QR code (two-dimensional barcode) image available on the screen of your device when approaching the security checkpoint or boarding gate. Please ensure that the entire QR code is visible on the screen and that the backlight is on when the barcode is being scanned. You should also have at your disposal the valid government-issued document, used during the check-in registration, which should be available for inspection at the security checkpoint as well as the boarding gate.
Weren't able to retrieve or download your boarding pass? Is your phone or mobile device's battery low and you cannot access your electronic boarding pass?
The boarding pass can be retrieved, free of charge, from the Animawings airport check-in counters, which are open up to 45 minutes prior to the flight.
The boarding gate, respectively boarding process, closes 20 minutes prior flight' scheduled departure time, so please note that you will be denied boarding, due to operational and security reasons, if you are delayed. To ensure a smooth experience, we ask passengers to check the scheduled departure time of their flight and to be on time at the announced boarding gate at the airport.
Airport Check-In
Animawings passengers can also check in at the AIRPORT, free of charge. Animawings check-in counters at the airport open 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Animawings passengers are requested to arrive at the airport on time, at least 2 hours before the flight, to allow sufficient time to complete the check-in process (checking identity documents, tagging hand luggage and handing over hold luggage, and obtaining boarding passes), security screening, and to arrive at the boarding gate on time.
Airport check-in counters close 45 minutes before your flight, and the boarding gate closes 20 minutes prior to the flight.
At airport check-in counters, passengers accompanied by infants or children, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, or passengers requiring special assistance have PRIORITY. We kindly ask the rest of the passengers to provide support and understanding for the fast processing of passengers falling into these categories, and we thank them for their understanding!
