When to visit Phuket

You can choose any time of year for a holiday in Phuket because Thailand has three friendly seasons. In the hot and dry season you have the beautiful beaches, and during the monsoon, although the rains are an almost daily presence, travelers can freely explore the most important attractions.

After landing

Airport: Krabi International Airport (KBV)

Away from the hustle and bustle of major Asian cities, Krabi International Airport seems a relatively quiet place, only during the tourist season there is more agitation and animation. The airport mainly serves charter flights and several national airlines that fly mainly from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Land transport to and from the airport

To get from the airport to Krabi, you have several transfer options to choose from. The most budget option is with a low-cost shuttlebus.

Private transfer is the fastest, obviously having the disadvantage of being more expensive. You can also rent a car during your stay, as most rental companies have counters at the airport.

Main attractions

Big Buddha

Located on the Nakkerd Hills, the huge 45-meter-tall Buddha statue is visible from halfway across the island. Prepare your camera, because you will have the opportunity to take stunning snapshots of Chalong Bay and the beautiful coast.

Flavors and flavors

The diversity of ingredients used by Thai chefs, the surprising aromas of exotic spices, the harmonious combination of the four tastes, salty, sour, sweet and spicy, all this won the hearts, or rather, the taste buds of gourmets around the world. From seafood to Russian dishes, you will notice influences from all over the world on the menus of Phuket restaurants. Specialties such as Phathai - a combination of noodles with shrimp and tofu cheese, Tom Yam - shrimp soup, Laap - minced meat with rice flour, lime, fish sauce and fresh herbs, Khao variety, pasta with such a special aroma of curry , Som tam - a delicacy cooked from fresh shrimp, papaya, tomato sauce, beans, lime and fish sauce, entices you on every street corner, and between us, you can hardly refrain.

Simply Phuket!

Phuket is synonymous with wonderful beaches, from those full of tourists and terraces to some secluded ones, which offer you peace and privacy. Among the most beautiful of them are Mai Khao, Surin, Freedom and Naithon. It would be a shame not to go to Phang Nga Bay, famous for the limestone cliffs that come out of the emerald water. Because most of Phuket's population is Buddhist, you will find nearly 40 temples on the island. Wat Chalong is one of the most important, seen as the spiritual center of Phuket and visited by millions of people every year. It is decorated with many pieces of glass and you will see many pagodas. Led by volunteers and funded by donations, Gibbon Rehabilitation Center rescues gibbons held captive, then rehabilitates them and reintroduces them back to their natural environment. Although you can't touch the animals, you can admire and learn more about them and the story of the center.

Beaches, islands, nature reserves

Phuket has over 33 beaches, all incredibly beautiful. If you want to go snorkeling, choose to go to Ao Sane, Laem Singh Beach, Ya Nui and Surin. Founded in the early 1980s, Sirinat National Park is a place worth exploring. It consists of three beaches on the northwest coast, Nai Yang, Sai Kaew and Mai Khao, as well as a magical mangrove forest where salt water meets fresh water. A popular camping spot, especially since nearby, during the spring, a local species of turtle lays its eggs. 84 kilometers northwest is the Similan Islands, one of Thailand's few protected areas. You will have the feeling that you have arrived in paradise, and the photos with the nine islands will attract the admiration of friends and family.

Shopping and adrenaline

We can't forget Naka Square, just outside Phuket Town. The covered area awaits you with clothes, electronics and souvenirs, and the open area with delicious food, at very low prices. For a substantial portion of adrenaline, you can go to a Muay Thai match at Saphan Hin Stadium or Patong Beach. You will be amazed by the physical and mental training of the athletes who practice the "art of the eight members", as well as by the affordable ticket prices.
