Useful information

With 120 km of coastline, Krabi Province boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Railay is among them and is only accessible by boat, as it is bordered by huge limestone cliffs. There are only a few bars in the area, so you will have the feeling that you have escaped and you will relax immediately.

A place worth visiting at least once in your life is Wat Tham Seua Temple, located in a series of caves in the heart of the jungle. You will be able to explore them and discover many interesting relics, including the "footprint of the Buddha", located at the end of 1,237 steps. The effort is fully rewarded with a panoramic view of the Andaman Sea and the surrounding islands. A 45-minute boat ride from the shore is the famous Phi Phi Islands, where "The Beach" was filmed. A remarkable tropical paradise, where it is worth relaxing for at least a few hours.

Thung Teao Forest Natural Park is home to spectacular plants and animals. Swim in the Emerald Pool, a body of water that seems detached from another world, admire the waterfall and look for the Pita Gurney bird, which was thought to have disappeared until recently.

When to visit Krabi

The best time for a visit to Krabi is between November and April, because the weather in southern Thailand can be unpredictable. However, there are many attractions open all year round, so you won't get bored even if it rains.

After landing

Airport: Krabi International Airport (KBV)

Away from the hustle and bustle of major Asian cities, Krabi International Airport seems a relatively quiet place, only during the tourist season there is more agitation and animation. The airport mainly serves charter flights and several national airlines that fly mainly from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Land transport to and from the airport

To get from the airport to Krabi, you have several transfer options to choose from. The most budget option is with a low-cost shuttlebus.

You may have to wait up to 45 minutes as the transfer will start after the seats on the minibus will be occupied by passengers using the service to reach Krabi.

Private transfer is the fastest, obviously having the disadvantage of being more expensive. You can also rent a car during your stay, as most rental companies have counters at the airport.
